General Procedure for Wastewater Monitoring
Determine Monitoring Indicators: Based on the types of pharmaceuticals produced by the factory and the characteristics of the production processes, identify the key water quality parameters that need to be monitored. Common monitoring indicators include, but are not limited to, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus, Suspended Solids (SS), pH value, and heavy metal content.
Set Monitoring Points: Establish monitoring points at different stages of wastewater treatment, such as the influent point, after each treatment unit, and at the final discharge point, to evaluate the effectiveness of the entire treatment process.
Sampling and Analysis: Collect water samples at specified frequencies and analyze the samples using accurate and reliable laboratory techniques or online monitoring equipment.
Data Recording and Reporting: Record all monitoring data and prepare regular reports for submission to relevant environmental regulatory authorities. If exceedances of standards are found, immediate corrective actions must be taken and reported to the relevant authorities.
