Ningxia Lanwan Aquaculture Base


Ningxia Blue Bay Ecological Agriculture Co., Ltd. is located in Helan County, Yinchuan City. It has now been developed into a modern demonstration park for green aquaculture of famous, special, and excellent aquatic species, covering a total area of 2,000 mu (approximately 133 hectares). Since 2017, the company has actively engaged in university‑industry collaboration with Fujian universities such as Jimei University, Ningde Normal University, and Xiamen University. Through the Fujian‑Ningxia cooperation program, it has innovated the model of "mariculture species cultured on land." The company has been recognized as a "Leading Enterprise in Agricultural Industrialization at the Autonomous Region Level," a "National Demonstration Zone for Healthy and Ecological Aquaculture," and a "National Leading Base for Modern Facility Agriculture Innovation."

Technology‑Driven Innovation and Transformation of Achievements

Leveraging the Fujian‑Ningxia cooperation platform and microbial recirculating aquaculture technology, the company has fully developed inland saline‑alkali water resources. Fry of large yellow croaker and yellowfin seabream were transported from Ningde City, Fujian Province, to carry out an innovative model of desalination and aquaculture. In cooperation with Jimei University, the company has conducted research on a standardized system for land‑based mariculture in saline‑alkali land, successfully achieving facility‑based aquaculture of species such as tiger shrimp and grouper in Northwest China. The industrial "land‑based mariculture" system has achieved key targets, including an aquaculture product yield of over 20 kg/m³, a profit increase of more than 25%, and water savings of over 30%.

Reform‑Empowered New Models of Ecological Aquaculture

The company is committed to achieving a win‑win situation for economic and ecological benefits through reform and innovation.

Industrialization of Aquaculture: Adopting the "land‑based circular tank" farming model, seven farming workshops on 14 mu (approx. 0.93 hectares) of land produce an output equivalent to that of approximately 700 mu (approx. 46.7 hectares) of open‑water aquaculture.

Intensified Water Use in Aquaculture: Using a "three ponds and two dams" tailwater treatment system, harmful inorganic salts are removed from the aquaculture water before it is discharged into outdoor ponds, enabling water recycling.

Integration of Vegetation, Sand Control, and Management: Over 80,000 trees of various greening species and fruit forests have been planted; livestock and poultry breeding as well as fruit and vegetable cultivation are carried out; and 400 mu (approx. 26.7 hectares) of sandy land have been comprehensively treated.

Driving Farmer Linkages and Upgrading the Development of Specialized Industries

Focusing on the key transition from "blood transfusion" assistance to "blood manufacturing" through specialized industries, the company has established a cooperative production model of "enterprise + base + research institutions + farmers." By effectively utilizing Fujian‑Ningxia cooperation funds and rural revitalization matching funds, the company has achieved long‑term employment for 39 members of village collective economic organizations, with an annual labor wage payment of 2.06 million RMB, an average annual income increase of 30,000 RMB per capita, and an annual dividend of over 520,000 RMB to the village collective. In 2024, the company commenced construction of a 60‑mu (approx. 4 hectares) deep‑processing workshop for aquatic products. It has trained 11 technical professionals in aquaculture, and has driven more than 50 aquaculture households around the park to engage in the production, processing, and sales of high‑quality aquatic species. The company is committed to serving agriculture and helping farmers increase their incomes.
