Online Water Quality Monitoring Project for the Water Source in Jieyang, Guangdong Province
This project is a key public welfare initiative to ensure regional drinking water safety and strengthen intelligent supervision of water sources. The project focuses on core centralized drinking water sources such as the Xinxihe Reservoir and the Yingrong Main Canal. By deploying micro water quality monitoring stations at scale, it establishes a real‑time, online, accurate, and intelligent water quality monitoring network covering the entire water source area. The project centers on miniaturized, integrated, low‑power intelligent monitoring equipment, scientifically positioned at key risk points including water intakes, boundaries of protection zones, and tributary confluences.
The equipment integrates high‑precision sensors capable of 24/7 uninterrupted real‑time monitoring of multiple core water quality indicators such as water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, electrical conductivity, turbidity, ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus, total nitrogen, and COD. It features functions including automatic sampling, precise analysis, data quality control, anomaly alerting, wireless transmission, and remote operation and maintenance. The equipment is adapted to complex outdoor environments, enabling long‑term stable operation. Its small size, easy installation, simple maintenance, and controllable cost effectively address pain points of traditional monitoring, such as insufficient coverage, delayed response, and complex maintenance.
Leveraging IoT and big data technologies, the project transmits monitoring data from each micro water station to a platform in real time, forming a complete closed‑loop management system of "monitoring – transmission – analysis – early warning – response." This achieves dynamic real‑time awareness of water quality at the source, advance warning of pollution risks, and rapid response to abnormal conditions. The project provides solid technical support and accurate data assurance for water quality safety management, pollution source tracing, environmental emergency response, and long‑term protection of the Jieyang water source, comprehensively building a smart monitoring defense line for regional drinking water safety.
