A Rural Water Supply Assurance Project in Heilongjiang

In current rural water supply assurance projects, water quality monitoring has evolved from traditional manual sample delivery to an automated real-time monitoring system based on "intelligent sensing + IoT cloud platform." This integrated system, through multi-parameter integrated monitoring, automatic analysis, and remote management and control, achieves round-the-clock water quality assurance from the "source" to the "tap."

Intelligent Monitoring Instruments and Core Parameters

Each automatic monitoring instrument in the system corresponds to one or more key water quality indicators, with functions and designs as follows:

Multi-parameter Integrated Analyzer: Typically integrates sensors for pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen, electrical conductivity, turbidity, residual chlorine, and ammonia nitrogen into a single unit. These sensors adopt the RS485 interface, feature strong anti-interference capability, and employ a reagent-free, consumable-free electrode-based design, resulting in low maintenance costs.

Dedicated Parameter Analyzers: For indicators requiring chemical analysis—such as permanganate index (oxygen consumption), total iron, and total manganese—dedicated automatic analyzers are deployed to digitize and upload test results.

IoT Cloud Platform and Intelligent Management and Control

The IoT cloud platform supports proactive and efficient operation and maintenance management.

Real-time Data Aggregation and Visualization: Data from each monitoring point is uploaded to the cloud platform in real time via 4G/5G or wired networks and presented on a unified "one-map" water supply management dashboard. Managers can view dynamic parameters such as pH and residual chlorine at any time.

Intelligent Alerting and Closed-loop Resolution: The platform allows setting safety thresholds for each parameter. Once data anomalies occur (e.g., low residual chlorine or excessive turbidity), the system automatically triggers alarms and pushes notifications to managers, enabling a closed-loop management process from problem detection to resolution.

The combination of automatic monitoring instruments + IoT cloud platform is driving rural water supply quality management toward digitalization and greater refinement.
